JB Artisan Soaps
Groveland, MA resident Jessica Barrett started making her own line of soap during the pandemic. As a hospice nurse, the pandemic was an incredibly stressful time for Jessica and she found herself scrolling through Tiktok as a way to take her mind off things. She was particularly drawn to watching soap making videos. As someone with multiple allergies and eczema, Jessica decided to try making her own soaps and bath and body products and was instantly hooked.
"I started having friends and family try the products and they gave me rave reviews."
In 2021 Jessica opened her business, JB Artisan Soaps, and hasn't looked back.
JB Artisans Soaps’ mission is creating products that are good for you, environmentally friendly, ethically and sustainably sourced and made with love. When Jessica is creating her small batch soaps, bath and body products she feels relaxed and at peace.
"I feel like I just go to a different place and lose track of time. If I’m not doing
a Tiktok live while I’m creating, I’m listening to a book or podcast. It’s turned into my me time."
Jessica's goal is to continue to expand her business with the hope that eventually she can cut back her hours at her full-time job.
"It’s something that I deeply enjoy and I’m passionate about."
Recently, Jessica has begun teaching soap making workshops at local shops including The Village Studio. In this 90 minute workshop you will learn the basics of cold process soap making and create two bars of soap using the melt and pour method. The featured scents will be Pineapple & Sage and Waters of Italy. Each guest will also get a swag bag. Sign up for the June 20th workshop before it sells out!
